Call for Participation
We invite you and your organization to join the Youth Peace Ambassadors International in building peace in the Nigeria and the world through empowering youth to share experiences of working to promote good values and ethics, the culture of peace and to develop practical action plans with the inspiration of the young people. Since 2010, Eubios Ethics Institute, in cooperation with partner institutions have organized seven Youth Peace Ambassador Training Workshops with 600 youth from many countries and circumstances. Together, the youth have worked to identify issues that can promote a culture of peace, and developed 220 action projects promoted at making a difference in their communities.
Through the Youth Peace Ambassador International Programme, we are jointly harnessing the power, optimism and influence of young people to promote action and change for Peace. The Youth Peace Ambassador International programme is global in reach, and the YPA8 will focus on promoting good values, ethics and integrity as tools to peaceful national development. There have been only a few Nigerian trainees of YPA so far, in the Trainings with have taken place in Hiroshima, Japan; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Penang, Malaysia; Etajima, Japan; Bangkok and Kaeng Krachan, Thailand; London, England; and Kathmandu, Nepal. In order to empower youth from all 109 Senatorial districts of Nigeria, and to bring together some of the many groups working for Peace in Nigeria, we hold YPA8 in Abuja. We also hope that this venue will be more accessible for our African friends.
The outcomes you could help achieve include:
The programme is especially for young citizens who have already started to make a difference in their community to overcoming the challenges for their communities, and persons who are actually doing things to rebuild communities.
Note on dates - The organizers regret that the YPA8 training has had to be postponed, and the dates will be confirmed once financial arrangements are preent to ensure wide participation of youth from around Nigeria, and the international facilitators.
